ramblings of an entrepreneurial madman

I’m feeling a lot better then I was on Monday.  Its amazing how up and down my moods can be from day to day.  It’s all because of my business and the stress that it causes.  Hopefully a few years from now, I’ll look back at these blog posts and laugh at everything.

Leads start again next week and I’m starting a new delivery schedule.  I’m doing early mornings on Monday and Wednesday and evenings on Tuesday and Thursday.  I’m also taking Fridays off from delivery and taking leads on Saturdays to see how that works out.  Hopefully these changes create some increased results.

I finally got my state income tax return check so I’m stoked about that.  It’s nice to deposit some money into my account every once in awhile instead of watching it slowly dwindle day by day.  I’ve also been working shorter days all week and have been going to the gym, so my workouts are going great as well.

It’s amazing how fast time fly’s in life.  Blink your eyes once and a week has passed; blink them again and the month is over.  You need to live in the now and do what you can do today to make a better tomorrow, and knowing that time passes by with the blink of an eye makes my business’ relatively slow start easier to swallow.

Yesterday when I was leaving the gym I saw a young guy filling up his yellow Lamborghini at a gas station and I couldn’t help but smile.  So many people would hate on this guy for whatever reason and I don’t understand why.  All I could think was “good for him; that will be me someday.”  He had a big shit-eating grin on his face and a hot blonde in the passenger seat.  I would too.

I have a little dilemma on my hands for Friday evening.  The Phoenix Suns are playing a playoff game and I really want to go to the bar to watch it.  Only problem is if I go to the bar, I’ll end up spending money I don’t have.  I know if I go, I’ll be pissed at myself the next morning.  If I don’t I’ll miss the game.  I can’t watch it at home because I don’t have cable.  Yes, you heard me correctly.  I don’t have cable.  I haven’t had it in years and honestly I don’t miss it one bit.  I still get about 10 stations and it’s all I need to keep me entertained.  Paying $50 – $100 a month for cable?  Fuck that!  When money isn’t an issue I’ll consider it.

Some of you may say, “dude just go to the bar and have a couple and watch the game,” but I know me, and once I have a couple I’ll want a couple more… and before I know it I’ll have a $50 dollar bar tab.  These little bar outings are what fucked me last month and that shit adds up quick.  If you go to the bar several times a month you’re looking at a couple hundred bucks spent.  I need to stay on budget this month and can’t have anymore fuckups.

Btw, my business partner likes to keep our office as cold as a fucking meat locker.  Its 90+ degrees outside and I’m sitting here with a sweatshirt on, ridiculous.

I can’t believe it’s May already.  The year is practically half over, unreal.
