Goals

I’ve touched on this topic throughout my blog and I’ve kind of fallen away from it.  Just recently I came across a blog where the individual that runs it, posts his goals up every month, then the following month updates whether or not he hit those goals.

I’ve done this for years in my own home.  I would typically type them up, print them out and then tack them to a wall in my bedroom so I’d constantly see and read them.  I also have a big dry erase board in my room which I write my goals on as well.

The last few months have been very difficult for me.  When you go month after month of not hitting your goals it begins to wear on you.  It’s not even though I was just slightly falling short; I was not even coming close.  Eventually I said “fuck it” and tore them down because they were pissing me off.  Goal setting is meant to be inspiring and motivational, not the opposite.

I decided that I’m going to start writing them out again every month, and I will put them on my blog for all to see.  I think this is better because it holds me accountable to hit my mark every month.  Not only am I doing it for myself, but I don’t want to come across as a slouch to all of my readers either.  I think writing them on my blog will make me work that much harder towards achieving them.

So without further ado, let’s begin shall we?
